Two of Australia most awarded comedians are on a road trip across North Queensland and are stopping into Port Douglas.

Kel Balnaves and Amy Hetherington have contrasting comedy styles so whether you like your comedy punchy and no nonsense or high energy with a dash of cheekiness you are going to be satisfied.

Kel adds Queensland dates to a year of Australia-wide touring. He’s taken his laconic stylings across the country and says touring regional areas is a highlight.

“The best audiences are outside the big cities because people in regional areas just love their comedy and they’re good at making a show memorable” an excited Kel told Newsport.

“I once had someone laugh like a kettle on the boil and another person danced on stage mid-way through one of my shows, you’re really on your toes at regional gigs” he said.

Kel Balnaves is also a skilled MC and began his career in 2006 and has since supported the likes of Fiona O’Loughlin. Now he’s taking the comedy world by storm.

Amy Hetherington bills herself as a terminally positive comedian and MC from Darwin. She comes to QLD after touring her award-winning show ‘Crying Over Spilt Milk’.

The show is about the pain, joy and madness of being a new parent and Amy says it’s been great to perform to parents, would be parents and never would I ever parents.

“As a new mum it’s fun doing relatable material for new parents but also, it turns out jokes about having a newborn are an effective contraception, so non-parents like it too” she laughed.

The two comics are performing at the Clink Theatre Port Douglas on Tuesday September 27, and you can book through the link below.
