The chance to soar like an eagle through the world’s oldest rainforest system is again now a reality with local personalities gathering to welcome the once popular activity back to the Daintree.
Douglas Mayor Michael Kerr and TTNQ boss Mark Olsen, among others, took the chance just hours ago to see first-hand the complete redesign and rebuild of the popular activity in Cape Tribulation.
The zipline aerial experience allows thrill seekers to explore the rainforest canopy from 15 metres above the ground, through a fully guided two-hour tour.
"This activity is a fantastic addition to the Daintree experience," Port Douglas Daintree chief Tara Bennett told Newsport during the official launch.
"We know the Daintree is the number one reason domestic travellers will visit FNQ for the first time, our job is to make sure they have a fantastic time here.
"Interactive experiences like Tree Top adventures ziplining is exactly what tourists are looking for here, they want to have fun and they want to be learning about the Daintree."
Treetops new facility boasts multiple ziplines, a 360 degrees viewing platform, an easy treetops course, interpretative talk and a 130m long dual zipline.
Douglas Shire CEO Rachel Brophy was also on hand to mark the occasion.
