Newsport’s iconic photo competition returns

Grab your camera’s!
Some of our readers might still remember it; Newsport’s one-and-only ‘best photo’ competition. Great news, the competition is returning, but this time with a whole new look.
Hundreds of beautiful pictures were sent to the Newsport editorial office between 2009 and 2015, providing a snapshot into life in the Douglas Shire.
Pictures were sent in by budding photographers and others were fun holiday snaps taken by visitors and locals, just for the fun and the love of it.
With different categories such as ‘beach landscapes’, ‘palm trees’, ‘best Aussie photograph’, ‘portraits’ and ‘wildlife’, every month winners were drawn and prizes were handed out.
As the competition was the most popular Newsport has ever run, we are excited to relaunch this special contest and display the natural beauty of our region.
