A situation that escalated between two men saw both an ambulance and fire truck spark into action around 3.30pm this afternoon in Port Douglas.

"There was an argument between two locals resulting in one falling down the rocks beside the boat ramp," Port Douglas Officer-in-Charge Damian Meadows told Newsport just moments ago.

"The male received multiple injuries and QFES was required to assist the recovery due to the uneven and dangerous environment.

"The male has been transported to Mossman for treatment and inquiries are continuing.

"Police are asking for witnesses to contact Port Douglas Police Station or Crime Stoppers."
