Johnston electrifying, gives Savannah fans amazing performance ahead of Nashville move

RISING STAR

Exactly a year after launching his festival career in Far North Queensland one of the most popular country music acts in Australia returned to do it all again tonight.
It was on this main stage a year ago James Johnston and his band played their very first country music festival and 12 months down the track the “Raised liked That” singer showed just how far he’s come.
Fresh from his performance at CMC Rocks just days ago in Ipswich Johnston brought the house down, his electrifying voice and array of feel-good country songs lapped by his adoring Far North Queensland fans.
"It’s absolutely wonderful being here, this stage is very special to me,” Johnston told Newsport backstage just moments before his performance.
“Savannah is the very first country music festival our band ever played, so to be back a year later doing it all over again is just incredible.
“It’s not lost on me how supportive the fans up here are and it’s magic to be performing in front of them all again this time around.”
Just weeks ago, in an exclusive interview with Newsport, Johnston confirmed he is relocating to Nashville early 2023 to pursue the next stage of his career.
Johnston will join song writing rounds, play Honky Tonks and look to land a recording deal at the home of country music.
Later in the evening main headliner Brad Paisley, fresh from an array of performances across the country, wowed show goers with his hits including “Waitin’ on a Woman”, “Mud on the Tyres”, "She's Everything" and others.
Overall, this year proved the most successful SITR festival to date, with great weather and a wonderful list of performers luring fans from right across the country.
