Considering a career change and looking to make a meaningful contribution to the local community then Queensland Police have put the call out for those interested across the Douglas Shire to consider a career in law enforcement.

Queensland Police Service currently employs more than 17,000 members including police officers and public servants and other roles such as Police liaison officers and watchhouse officers.

The service is currently on the hunt and recruiting local residents who are community minded and professional and wish to join the Force.

“Every day is different, and one thing that’s guaranteed is that while you may be challenged, you will be rewarded with the satisfaction that comes with protecting and serving your community,” Far North District Duty Officer Senior Sergeant Greg Giles said.

“There is a rigorous recruitment process to select applicants with the right skills, aptitude and attitude required to deliver services expected by Queenslanders.

“Each academy cohort spends six months at the academy and a further 12 months of station-based training as first year constables where they are assessed on their management of a range of policing scenarios they face each shift.”
