Beach Shack gains new pizza kitchen to complete shared dining experience

Local foodies and visitors have responded well to the re-opening of the Beach Shack at Four Mile Beach in Port Douglas and bookings are advised.
Now a shared dining experience, the eatery has been open just over two weeks and is gaining a popular following with its Hula Girl Bar and Twinkle Town Mediterranean food tenants.
To complete the shared dining set-up, this week owner Nat Towers said a new pizza kitchen called ‘Slice Slice Baby’ will open for business within the Beach Shack Co-op.
But to complement the existing outlet’s fare, the new pizza kitchen will have both meat and vegetarian on its menu.
“I’m not vegan but my God Dave, it is sensational, home-made stuff; he makes everything from scratch,” Ms Towers told Newsport. “The pita bread, the falafels, the houmous, it is just divine.”
Bookings the way to go
The Beach Shack has also just brought on board the international online restaurant-reservation service OpenTable to meet the growing trend of customers wanting to book ahead.
“We’ve just had that many calls and I think people now just want the security of a booking.”
Takeaways will also be available from both food outlets.
Ms Towers said after the COVID pandemic which hit restaurants and hospitality in the region hard, locals and visitors alike are again making the most of dining out.
“We’re just all having a crack and it’s really been a wonderful, positive response from the audience which has been really lovely because last time it was completely different.”
