Mossman Sharks lands huge coup after signing Ben Barba for season 2023

EXCLUSIVE

The Mossman Sharks’ quest to make amends for a heartbreaking two point loss in this year’s CDRL A-grade grand final against Brothers has received a gigantic boost.
Just hours ago the Mossman Sharks confirmed the signing of none other than Ben Barba, who at his prime from around 2008-15 was one of the most recognisable, marketable and best players in the NRL.
At his absolute best Barba was total box office, having claimed the Dally M player of the year with Canterbury Bankstown in 2012.
He also claimed a slew of other awards throughout his career including the Man of Steel award for the best player in the UK following a stint with St Helens in 2018.
“We’re delighted that Ben has agreed to join us for the 2023 season,” club president Jason Fasolo told Newsport.
“To have a player of Ben’s calibre can only be good for the club. Ben has done it all in the game and we’re excited to have him join the club, he has so much to offer.
“Ultimately one of our players approached Ben at the recent Koori knockout about the possibility of playing with the Sharks, and from there, things moved favourably to where we can confirm Ben will be at the club next season.”
Newsport reached out to Ben for his reaction about signing with the Sharks but he was unavailable for comment.
