Most golfers spend a lifetime visualising, picturing and dreaming of the exact moment.

That moment when the ball sails beautifully off the tee, strong through the sky, hits the green perfectly, rolls directly towards the pin and trickles in for a hole in one.

Most players are happy to hang their hats on securing the rare feat once in their lifetime.

So, imagine, doing it three times in 10 weeks. That’s exactly what a local golfer can lay claim to after an extraordinary few weeks’ on local greens in Mossman and Port Douglas.

It seems, nailing hole in ones has proved as easy as shelling peas for Mossman Golf Club employee Michael Foley.

The extraordinary treble feat kicked off on August 10 when he buried his first hole in one on the par 3, 10th at Mossman Golf Club.

Just 12 days later, Foley, 57, miraculously secured his second, this time at the Mirage, on the 13th hole on August 22.

Exactly two months later again at the Mirage Country Club Foley ridiculously rounded out his incredible achievement by nabbing his third hole in one, this time on the 6th hole on October 22.

The main himself though, remains as humble as ever about the achievement.

“I just love the game and never anticipated that something like this would or could happen,” Mr Foley remarked to Newsport.

“It’s quite odd really; I waited 57 years to get my first hole in one, but then to get three in the space of three months, it’s quite unexpected.”
