It is the perfect chance to get a real behind-the-scenes glimpse and not only that, it is also a great opportunity to awaken your own creative spirit; the annual DAB end-of-year-exhibition.

The spectacle offers DAB artists the opportunity to showcase the artwork that they have created during the year.

With over 350 artworks from 47 exhibiting artists it is safe to say the exhibition covers a wide range of mediums including paintings, drawings, mixed media works, pottery, glassworks, mosaics and felting.

This year is the 20th anniversary of DAB's establishment and as one of the founding members it was fitting for Ms Terell to open the current exhibition.

Freedom to express creativity

According to Mandy Ryan from DAB, the exhibition gives artists a lot of freedom because there is no particular theme.

“We don't have a theme for this exhibition which results in a very diverse range of subject matter and mediums,” she said.

“It gives them the freedom to express their creativity with unlimited subject matter, and visitors to the gallery love the end-of-year-exhibition because of the wide range and uniqueness of the artwork.

“Included in the exhibition is a selection of unique ‘dyed landscapes’ mixed media artworks, which resulted from a recent weekend workshop.

“There is also an increase in amazing high quality pottery pieces from sculptures and vases to tableware, all with fabulous textures and glazes.

“There is a wonderful selection of artworks available to purchase, something for all budgets. Come in and support our artists and buy local for Christmas.”

The exhibition runs until Saturday 18 December and the gallery is open from Monday to Saturday 10am - 2pm.
