Meet Chris, a property manager who attributes community spirit to his success in Douglas.

Property manager Chris Morgan came to Port Douglas in 1998 as a dive instructor and he still feels like he is on holiday every day.

Mr Morgan is originally from Brisbane and came to Port Douglas to continue his scuba instructor career after living and working overseas and on Heron Island.

While working as the North American Sales manager for the Quicksilver Group, Mr Morgan figured that travelling for his work and the time away was difficult. “I decided to get into property management when my wife said there was an opportunity to join the Ray White Holiday Management team. Since then we have bought the Holiday rental division in 2018.”

Mr Morgan is now owner of Port Douglas Accommodation, a holiday accommodation specialist offering a wide range of private holiday homes, villas and apartments in Port Douglas.

“The community is the main reason I’m here,” he says in the video. “The incredible network of people around us allows us to live here but also to thrive and for our business to grow.”

“The laid back attitude partnered with world class customer service. The stunning natural beauty and unique seasons contribute to us all thinking “look at where I live!” from time to time.”

As part of the ‘Do it in Douglas’ campaign, Douglas Shire Council, Tourism Port Douglas Daintree (TPDD) and Douglas Chamber of Commerce have launched a new series of storytelling videos that shine a light on local entrepreneurs and talent.

Do It In Douglas is about encouraging growth and prosperity in the Shire’s small business community.

The launch of nine videos will take people into the lives of those that have realised success in business and life. It also gives an inspiring and equally realistic insight into what it’s like to do business in Douglas.
