Police are appealing to residents of Four Mile, Port Douglas for anyone with dashcam footage from last night to come forward.

UPDATE: 

Police have revealed the identity of last nights motorcycle victim as long term Port Douglas local, 27-year-old Shanti Wren.

The town is devastated.

PREVIOUS:

A woman has died following a motorbike crash in Four Mile, Port Douglas last night.

Initial investigations reveal around 6:00pm the 27-year-old Whitfield woman was a passenger on the bike, driven by a 31-year-old Port Douglas Man on Barrier Street, Port Douglas when the pair were thrown from the bike after negotiating a corner.

The woman sustained critical injuries and later died in Hospital.

The Forensic Crash Unit is appealing for witnesses especially those with dashcam of the crash or the moments leading up to it to come forward.
