DOUGLAS residents seeking a splash of fun and entertainment are in for a treat with an array of upcoming shows set to rock the Far North region in the coming weeks and months.
Respect – The Aretha Franklin story kicks off the action on Friday, April 8 at Cairns Performing Arts Centre.
“The electrifying show journeys through Aretha’s courageous life of love, tragedy and triumph, while showcasing her greatest hits over the last 50 years,” a show representative told Newsport.
The show stars Angie Narayan as Aretha and has been called a “masterful piece of storytelling about family, loyalty and victory” by show critics.

On the same weekend legendary Aussie rocker Ian Moss and country music star Troy Cassar-Daley bring their‘Together alone’ tour to CPAC on Sunday April 10.
The event will mark the first time the pair have toured together.
“The two legends will take the audience on a musical journey across their respective careers,” a spokesman revealed.
Later the same month the highly successful Melbourne international comedy festival roadshow returns to the Far North.
The roadshow has delivered laughs to regional communities for more than 20 years and this time will be no different.
“Buckle up for a night of stand-up, sketch, satire, silliness and song which will satisfy all your comedic cravings,” a show representative told Newsport.

Rounding out a bumper few months will be ‘INXSIVE’, the INXS tribute show at Edge Hill Tavern on Sunday June 5.
In Cairns for the first time INXSIVE will be a must for all INXS fans.
