The Douglas Shire can look forward to a $317 million wave park after Councillors voting unanimously this morning to endorse the town planners' recommendation to move ahead with the project.
There are conditions and amendments but the Development Application has been accepted.
It is unknown at this stage when work will begin. This will be based on the developer meeting the Council's requirements.
