A seven goal third quarter blitz by Centrals and an uncharacteristically poor performance at home has helped the visiting Bulldogs beat the Crocs for the second time this season.

Keen to extract some revenge after their loss to Centrals earlier this season, it was instead the Dogs who reigned supreme, turning a 10-point half time deficit into a 22-point advantage at three quarter time.

From there, the Dogs dominated the final term to eventually claim a 35- point, 108-73 win at the Croc Pit.

Bulldogs player Michael Griechen was near best on ground after racking up numerous possessions.

Lachie Rhook who booted six goals including a towering effort from 55 metres out and teammate Luke James, were also impressive for the visitors.

Port were unusually wasteful in front of goal, Nic Salter with five goals and Kye Chapple, a double, were the main goal scorers for Douglas.

Port started well to lead 26-7 at quarter time and maintained the advantage to lead by close to two goals at the main break, but after half time it was the Dogs who powered away to record an upset win on the road.

FNQ Rugby this week

Meantime, Mossman Sharks’ winning run has continued after a comfortable victory against fourth placed Ivanhoes.

The home side shot out to an early 8-0 lead and were in control for long periods of the contest to eventually secure a 36-12 win.

Kalani Anau, Stanley Anau, Budhagi Gibuma and Davin Crampton were amongst the try scorers for the Sharks.

Lastly, Southside proved too strong for Port Douglas in FNQ Rugby action, beating the visitors 28-0 at Petersen Park.
