Mates channel Forrest Gump to complete amazing adventure

Mission Accomplished

Two ambitious men with a joint dream to channel their inner Forrest Gump and simply run, run and run until they couldn’t anymore have put the finishing touches on an adventure that will stay with them for the rest of their lives.
Just hours ago Ash Currie and Jamie Candler arrived at the Tip of Australia their final steps the incredible culmination of a three week running adventure in which the duo started back in Port Douglas on June 18.
The sole purpose and motivation of the trip dubbed ‘Port to Pajinka’: to raise money for men’s mental health and favoured charity, Movember.
In a wonderful development the pair confirmed across their social media channels a short time ago that they have done exactly that. As it stands they have raised $31,517.
“Humbled, absolutely humbled, this is for all of us, it’s done, we got the dog,” a jubilant Mr Candler said from Punsand Bay.
“We’re just a couple of fellas having a go, not much more you can ask.
“To everyone who reached out, we love you.
“Remember you are never alone.”
In recent days the inspirational duo also attended a colour run at Bamaga oval.
