Update: The Missing man has been located safe.

Police are seeking public assistance to help locate a man missing from Mareeba.

He was was last seen heading south from Mareeba around 8.45am today.

He is described as 56-year-old, 175cm tall with grey hair and hazel eyes, and may be wearing a black hoody and black baseball cap.

His current whereabouts are unknown, however he may be travelling in the Herberton area.

Investigators are appealing to or anyone who may have seen him or the vehicle, to contact police.
