Douglas Shire residents are invited to swim and relax poolside with classic Ibiza beats and to enjoy a memorable sunset experience at the highly popular Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort this Sunday in Port Douglas.
Sheraton Sunset Sessions is a new signature experience developed to welcome the local community to Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort for a memorable sunset experience featuring classic Ibiza chill-out beats, quirky pop-up bars and mediterranean style food.
As most locals are aware, swimming in the Sheraton’s iconic blue lagoon pools, nestled alongside Port Douglas’ famous Four Mile Beach, is usually reserved exclusively for guests staying in the Resort’s 295 Rooms and 55 Villas.
With the volume of travelers visiting the region, this could total 900 to 1000 people on the property any day of the week.
Considering the safety and wellbeing of guests is always the priority for Sheraton and the resort’s management team, it is understandable some control is essential.
“The exclusive use of our pools is due to the very high occupancies in the resort and the level of care we are committed to ensuring every guest has a safe environment to enjoy the facilities,” Sheraton Grand Mirage General Manager Steve Molnar told Newsport.
“Organising our regular Sheraton Sunset Sessions event is the exception as it allows us to provide locals the opportunity to also enjoy our unique beachfront location and connect with visitors and guests.”
If you attend Sheraton Sunset Sessions you are invited to swim in the sparkling saltwater lagoons and lounge on the sandy shore of main beach, without being a Resort guest.
There are three exclusive event packages to choose from, but the local’s favourite is the ‘Shell Package’.
This option gives locals, visitors and guests the flexibility to pick their spot on the sand to enjoy the sunset and Ibiza-inspired chill out music curated by one of the resort’s DJ’s.
Entry is $50 with equal value credit to spend as you please on a selection of Mediterranean food and refreshing beer, cocktails, or champagne.
