Roby Kessler has been reappointed as president of Mossman Rotary Club.

Just days after they handed over a generous cheque to the local hospital the hardworking team at Mossman Rotary Club have joined together to re-appoint their president and sort plans for the rest of the year.

Typically, at a changeover dinner a new president is appointed, however, on this occasion Roby Kessler was ratified as the continuing chief for another 12 months.

“Every 12 months we hold our changeover dinner in which a new person is given the chance to be president,” Mr Kessler told Newsport.

“On this occasion due to a lack of numbers it was decided that I’d take on the role for another 12 months.”

During the changeover dinner at Port Douglas Yacht Club Mr Kessler thanked all members for their ongoing commitment and dedication over the past year.

Mr Kessler also had a key message to potential members across the Douglas Shire.

“I’d like to put a call out to invite any new members to join Mossman Rotary club,” he said.

“New members are crucial to our future, at times it’s difficult because we have fewer and fewer members, I’d encourage anyone who has an interest in their community to consider joining – there is so much you get out of being involved in something like your local Rotary club.”
