Mossman State School tennis courts will be one of the venues for the inaugural ‘rally4ever tennis event’, Australia’s largest tennis rally for mental health.
The Mossman clubs joins tennis centres and courts across the country for this unique event which is being held on Saturday from 8:00am to 9:00am at the Mossman courts.
rally4ever was founded by Louise Pleming, a former WTA tennis player, tennis commentator, high-performance coach, and recent winner of the John Newcombe medal for “the spirit of tennis” award.
She is excited that local tennis clubs are joining in to the event to give back to their community by offering free tennis this weekend; one court, one coach for one hour
“The aim is to offer a fun tennis experience for everyone.
“We want to create a stress-free time for everyone on court and hopefully it continues into the day and week. We provide a safe place to have fun and connect through movement and it’s amazing to see our community members lift each other up and come back again in the next week.”
As a well respected, professional player, high performance coach and WTA commentator, it’s not surprising that the tennis world and community have embraced and supported rally4ever and its program.
Tennis greats and rally4ever ambassadors Martina Navratilova, Sam Stosur, Daria Gavrilova, Pat Cash and celebrities Seal, Michael Caton are some of the rally4ever supporters.
Posts of support from Billie-Jean King, Chrissie Evert, Storm Sanders, Jelena Dokic, Ajla Tomljanovic, Astra Sharma, Alex Osborne and Nick Kyrgios who said that rally4ever is a charity that people are recognising as a great community incentive
