Tree planting memorial for those who have fallen in the line of duty

Daintree Rainforest Memorial
Officers from Mossman Police Station, including Sergeant Gil Dyett representing the Queensland Police Union and Mayor of Douglas Shire, Michael Kerr, took part in a tree planting ceremony.
The ceremony was organised to honour Senior Constable Brett Forte and Senior Constable David Masters who lost their lives while performing their duties.
Along with the officers, Police Horse Maney and Police Dog Rambo (also killed in the line of duty) have also been honoured with the planting of 105 trees in the Daintree.
Members of the community raised money for the tree planting, which took place on Wednesday.
The tribute plot is now a permanent part of the Daintree Rainforest, the oldest rainforest on the planet.
It can now be visited by family and colleagues at no cost, with GPS coordinates available through Daintree Life.
A special thank goes out to Connie and David Pinson from Daintree Life and to Anastasia Tan who was the community member responsible for coordinating this memorable initiative.
