Newell Beach boat ramp on track for completion in June

Progress on the Newell Beach boat ramp is continuing.
Member for Cook Cynthia Lui was pleased with the state of works during a recent visit to the site.
“It’s wonderful to see the progress of the construction of the Newell Beach Boat Ramp,” Ms Lui said.
“It has taken an enormous effort obtaining environmental approvals and getting the design locked in and no doubt it will be worth the wait.”
Ms Lui said onsite construction work commenced late last year.
“Nightworks are well underway, as crews lay the boat ramp planks during the lowest tides,” she said.
“We are well on our way to seeing the project delivered in June of this year.
“I am looking forward to seeing this much anticipated facility completed and enjoyed by locals.”
“I also look forward to seeing more than $1.7 billion in road and transport projects, like the Newell Beach boat ramp, delivered in the Far North over four years.
“We are spending a record $27.5 billion road and transport plan is creating 27,000 jobs, some right here in the Cape,” she said.
“I’m pleased to say $17.8 billion of this will be delivered throughout regional Queensland.
“We have a vision to improve transport, roads and amenities and we have the funding to deliver it.”
