Beautiful birds, fabulous frogs, tremendous turtles and baffling butterflies. Far North Queensland is a true haven for wildlife photography and Newsport wants to see your best captured local fauna.

The December round of Newsport’s iconic photo competition is well underway and so far many beautifully captured animals were sent in through Instagram.

From the depths of the tropical rainforest to a small garden in the middle of town, no matter where we are, wildlife is present. Share with us your best frames and moments of our unique local inhabitants.

Newsport readers will have the opportunity to submit their wildlife photographs until the 2nd of January 2023. On the 3th of January a new round will start and a new theme will be announced on that day.

So send in your best crocodile, bird, turtle or kangaroo pictures and who knows your next month’s winner!

Tag us on Instagram: @newsport.daily and have a chance at winning one of the following prizes:

- People’s choice winner: The post with the most likes on our Instagram page will win a voucher of $50 for professional photography classes with Tracey Jones.

- Professional panel’s selection: A professional panel will make a selection of the three best pictures. The number one will win a $50 dinner voucher at The Tin Shed Port Douglas.
