Douglas Shire holiday makers and locals alike now have increased access to one of the more exhilarating and exciting experiences on offer in Far North Queensland.

Hot Air Balloon Port Douglas confirmed its now operating two direct guaranteed pre-dawn transfer services a week from Douglas to Mareeba on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

The addition of the bi-weekly air-conditioned coach services for the 172km or approximately two-hour return journey gives those based in Douglas for weekend getaways, holidays or other stays ease of access to one of the more sought-after activities in the region.

Refreshments are included both before and after the flight and options include connection to ongoing package tours.

“We’re really excited to offer our twice weekly return transfer service from Douglas to Mareeba,” a Hot Air Balloon Douglas spokesperson said.

“Those wishing to book this experience in Douglas now have direct, fast and easy access straight to the departure point, ahead of what is generally considered a bucket list item.

“Everyone is welcome to try this experience, it truly is a wonderous, and memorable experience.”
