Pet Registrations

Last updated:

On Tuesday this week, Douglas Shire Council passed a resolution granting council inspectors additional powers of entry into unattended private property while conducting inspections for unregistered pets.

This means that if nobody is home when the inspector arrives, "an authorised person may enter a place if the entry is under an approved inspection program". This falls under Section 111 of the Animal Management (Cats and Dogs) Act 2008.

These inspections will be conducted between 7:30am - 5pm Monday to Friday and are due to commence on the 20th September.
