Four Mile Beach in Port Douglas is currently covered in tiny 'bean bag balls' after seemingly coming in with this afternoon's high tide and onshore wind.

Co-owner of Coral Beach Lodge Tom Quealy was walking his dog Bonnie along the beach this afternoon and told Newsport that the pollution stretches from the entrance at Four Mile Park on Barrier St at least half way into town.

The cause is currently unknown.
