Country music festival Savannah in the Round is ready to rock the region from 1-3 October with music fans being able to get their COVID jab while catching a line up full of Australian talent.

The three-day event, taking place at the Rodeo Grounds in Mareeba, is joining with Queensland Health to create the very first music festival vaccination hub.

The jabs will be offered to all patrons on day one of the festival, giving a boost to the regional area’s vaccination rate.

The vaccination hub will also be an opportunity for festival visitors to join the efforts of #vaxthenation; a campaign encouraging everybody to get vaccinated in order to bring back live entertainment events.

Event director James Dein said that “creating a festival in the middle of a pandemic is no easy task, but vaccination is the key to freedom.”

“We have worked hard for over two years now on ensuring our COVID plan is best practice, and while we’re proud of the event we’ll be delivering to the Tropical North this weekend, we are urging our patrons to join us in getting the jab so that normal life can be just around the corner”, he said.

With big names like John Butler, Sheppard, San Cisco, Ian Moss and Sneaky Sound System, Savannah in the Round is set to become one of 2021’s most anticipated live events.

Limited tickets remain to the three-day festival, including single and multi-day passes, a range of accommodation options from drive-in campsites to glamping, and transfers from Cairns and Port Douglas.
