Sporting stars assist fundraiser

The Palmer Sea Reef Golf Club hosted some of Queensland and Australia’s biggest sport stars last Friday.
Cricketers including Rod Marsh, Ryan Harris, Andrew Symonds and Jimmy Maher joined up with rugby legends Michael O’Connor, Elton Flatley, Bill Ross and Barry Lea for a golf day aimed at raising funds for cricket and rugby programs in the Far North Region.
The locals got right behind the day with 22 teams supporting the endeavour.
By all reports the golf course played tough after the deluge of rain in recent times.
