Port Douglas Cyclones a force to be reckoned with at Masters GamesPrintShare

Over the three-day swimming meet organised by Masters Swimming Queensland as part of the Great Barrier Reef Masters Games the Port Douglas Cyclones swimmer collected an impressive 26 individual medals.


For some of them this was the first time competing at a pool meet, or the first time in a long time.

Over 200 adult swimmers from all over Australia competed at the Games from Thursday to Saturday.

Coach Irene Cats said: “I am so proud of everyone giving it a go and doing so well.

“For some it took a bit of convincing to get them to register, but everyone had an amazing few days and we all happily surprised ourselves with our times and places.”

“It was a wonderful event to be part of and we’ll definitely be back in 2023.”
