The hugely popular Wonderland Spiegeltent has finished its 2021 season in Port Douglas after 10 days of spectacular performances during Carnivale.

The 1930s nostalgic wooden mirrored travelling circus tent hosted a program of live entertainment including circus, cabaret, comedy, burlesque, music and family shows, transporting audiences to a world of the weird, wacky and absolutely wonderful.

The Spiegeltent’s performances including Popcorn Underground, Blunderland and the Greatest Magic Show were all sold out.

The headline show, Popcorn Underground, was equal parts naughty, hilarious, and jaw-dropping with seductive sword-swallowers, punk rock knife-throwers, topless tap-dancers and eye-watering contortionists.

Not to mention the host, Rueben Kaye, who had the audience in stitches the whole show with his adult-only humour.

Wonderland Spiegeltent Festival Director, Melissa Head thanked Port Douglas audiences for coming out to catch the show.

“We worked all year to bring a show that would have shoulders shaking and laughter after the year we have all had and Popcorn Underground delivered that and more,” she said.
