Last Friday, Douglas United played at home against the Marlin Coast Rangers finishing with a win in the second division and a draw in the third division.
There were high expectations for a big second division match; both teams were at the top of the ladder with three wins out of three matches played.
Neither the Dragons nor Marlin Coast disappointed the fans that were in the stadium.
In a game full of goals and changes in the score, the local side reached victory with a final 4-3.
With three goals, Ramiro Vilar became the MVP of the match after another great performance. Adriano Gualtieri was the other scorer of the night.
With this win, the Dragons lead the league with four victories in four matches.
In the third division match, the local team improved their performance after a loss in Mareeba last week.
In a tough game, both sides had the opportunity to score during the 90 minutes, however, the defence was stronger than the attack and no one broke the zero-score mark.
“We kept a clean sheet after receiving five goals last round and that gives us confidence,” said Diego Montarcé, centre back and captain of the team.
Important points for the squad that puts them into the fifth position with seven points.
