Douglas United defeated Leichhardt in the fifth round of the Football Championship to lead the points ladder in the second division with 15 points.

From the beginning of the match, Dragons assumed the protagonist role and pulled off a perfect performance for a 13-0 win.

The local side showed all its skills against a team that had won just one game in the tournament and rests between the last positions on the ladder.

Again, the Dragons' Uruguayan middle fielder, Rodrigo Vilar, with four goals, was the MVP of the night at the Port Douglas Sports Complex.

On the other side, the third division team couldn't get back to the good football shown at the beginning of the season and were beaten 2-4.

Coach Snel´s squad takes the fifth position on the ladder and still dreams to reach a playoff spot.

Next Friday 28 May, Dragons play away at Walker Road field two (Edmonton) against Southside Comets FC.
