Dive Club to premiere on Australian TV this month

TV SERIES

Dive Club, the 12-episode teen drama series shot in Port Douglas last year is set to make its Australian television premiere this month.
The Douglas Shire will be showcased around the country as the series kicks off with a movie-length premiere, Saturday, 29 May at 6:00pm on Network 10’s free-to-air channel, 10 Shake and online on 10 Play on-demand.
Dive Club will also make its global debut to over 190 countries on Netflix later this year.
Dive Club is the story of 16-year-olds Maddie, Lauren, Anna and Stevie. On the surface, they’re regular teenagers navigating life, friendship and romance, but under the water, the skilled divers enter a whole new world of adventure.
It’s an idyllic existence that’s suddenly shattered when the fictional town of Cape Mercy, which bears resemblance to Port Douglas, is battered by a cyclone and Lauren, the group’s charismatic trailblazer, goes missing.
The mystery of her disappearance, the arrival of a new friend, Izzie, and with suspicious holes in the official investigation, the girls are plunged into a desperate search of their own that raises more questions the deeper they dive.
Playing backdrop to all the action will be iconic Douglas Shire locations such as the Sugar Wharf, Macrossan Street, the Clink Theatre, the Iron Bar, Thala Beach, the Mossman cemetery, Wonga Beach, and the waters of the Great Barrier Reef.
The cast and crew spent around 16 weeks in Port Douglas and surrounds between October and January.
