Beach Estate on Langley launched

Port Douglas’ latest development has been launched and Beach Estate, located at the end of Langley Road, will provide opportunities for would-be buyers and investors.
Officially opened on Wednesday by Douglas Shire Mayor Michael Kerr, the estate has been raised by up to a metre and extensively landscaped with over 25 new trees and an abundance of shrubbery planted. It also features a high-class cobblestone driveway flanked by mature palms and brass and stone entrance statement.
“Four of the 15 lots are already spoken for, although that will change quickly as there is talk of buyers amalgamating lots.
“Beach Estate is just 80 metres from Four Mile Beach and the four largest lots have their own individual stone stair beach access. Lots range in price from $455k to $1.4m,” said Daniel Farquhar from the Seymour Group, a Queensland premier property development and investment company.
Farquhar said he was really pleased with the team effort and thinks the results speak for themselves.
“Now that the wet season is almost out of the way, demand is really picking up as the penny drops. You just can’t find vacant land in Port Douglas – particularly without body corporates,” he said.
Farquhar said they had settled their first lot last Tuesday, which hopefully means there will shortly be houses underway.
“Owners have the opportunity to design their own bespoke home with their architect of choice. It will be exciting to see some really nice homes being build,” he said.
Farquhar said Port Douglas is now setting up for a new wave of growth.
“In anticipation of borders opening and international tourism returning, there are at least two more major developments in the pipeline with Tim Gurner’s $60m luxury resort on the Esplanade and the 252-room Fairmont Port Douglas resort.”
Mayor Kerr was invited to cut the ribbon at the official opening of the site and said an estate like this will be an asset to the Shire.
“It gives everyone confidence that people want to spend money here, they want to build here, and the more ratepayers we have in the Shire the better, especially this close to Port Douglas," he said.
“A lot of the land at the moment is outside of the boundaries of Port Douglas but having a site like this in Port Douglas, and a good quality estate as well, is absolutely an asset for the Shire.
“There was some controversy earlier in the development because it was park land for a little while there and so I look forward to seeing the trees growing back in this area. It was part of the Development Application that they had to replace the trees, so these trees here now will grow.”
