Carnivale returns with Aussie rocking headline act Spiderbait

CARNIVALE

The region is set to party in May as Port Douglas Carnivale makes its return in 2021 featuring all the festival’s favourite events and headline act Australian rock greats, Spiderbait.
Spiderbait had been set to headline Carnivale in 2020 before the event was cancelled due to COVID-19.
Making its come back, the seven-day festival is set to hit Port Douglas on May 14 to 21 with a range of events including the Macrossan Street Parade, the Longest Lunch, Wonderland Spiegeltent, and Family and Beach Day Out.
While Aussie rockers Spiderbait will hit the stage with their classic hits like Black Betty at Carnivale’s Tropic Rock Concert at Rex Smeal Park on Saturday, May 22, tickets are on sale now.
The trio is among just a handful of artists that have enjoyed success across both mainstream and alternative rock music scenes during a career spanning three decades.
Douglas Shire Mayor Michael Kerr said Port Douglas was ready to welcome all with a range of Carnivale events perfect for lovers of all things food, fun and sun.
“We are excited to have Spiderbait as the Carnivale headline act. Their live shows always have that extra something and certainly draw the crowds,” Mayor Kerr said.
“Carnivale is a great time to be in Port Douglas, with so much going on it’s the perfect time to experience everything we have to offer in Australia’s own tropical paradise.
“We are also calling for sponsors and urge local businesses and others to invest in Carnivale 2021 to ensure it is the terrific event we have been waiting for,” he said.
