Round nine of Douglas Netball’s 2021 season was the final round before the school holidays and all teams were eager to put points on the board before the two-week break.

Juniors

This week in the junior competition the Stingers went up against the Storm.

It was a close match and despite the Stingers keeping within touching distance of the lead most of the match, Storm was able to keep their noises just ahead to win 22 – 14.

The best and fairest of the match went to the Stingers’ Shae Leighton who also received the votes for players choice along with Strom’s Jasmine Davidson.

Seniors

In the senior’s division one competition, the Drifters took on the Crocs.

It was a tough day at the office for the undermanned Drifters with the Crocs dominating from start to finish, winning 57 – 11.

Best and fairest for the match was awarded to the Crocs’ Anita Harold, while the player's choices for player of the match went to Drifters’ Kirsty Burchell and Crocs’ Neida Shortland.

In division two, Poison and Magpies went head-to-head in a tight match.

The score was neck and neck for most of the game before a few turnovers saw the Magpies steal the win 39 – 30.

Best and fairest went to Magpie Michaelyn Parks while players choice was awarded to poison’s Caitlyn Nulty and Magpies’ Amy Davidson.

And lastly, the Panthers versed Rattle.

It was a tough night for the Panthers, who were missing a number of players, with Rattle completely dominating the match to win 39 – 4.

Best and fairest was awarded to Rattle’s Jayme Burcombe and players choice went to Panthers’ Alexis Rich and Rattle’s Kaijah O’Sullivan.
