Douglas netballers hit the courts on Tuesday night for round 11 as competition heats up as they head towards the pointy end of the 2021 contest.

In the Juniors, the Stingers and Storm battled it out once again with the Storm getting out to a hard and fast lead, taking the win 49 – 18.

The best and fairest of the match went to Stingers’ Cara Fregoni while players choice votes were awarded to April Hams and Jasmine Davidson.

In senior’s division one, the Drifters went up against the Cougars. There was some impressive shooting on display by Drifters’ Mikaela Goodwin and Cougars’ Nikkaya Williams. In the end, the Cougars were too strong, taking the win 48 – 27.

Best and fairest was awarded to Alicia Cann and players choices were Marley Cairns from Cougars and Jess Shapter from Drifters.

In the second division, Poison took on Rattle in a hard-fought match. Poison got out to a big lead in the first quarter, Rattle fought back in the second and third terms to get within touching distance of the lead, however, it wasn’t enough with Poison able to hold on to win 33 – 25.

Best and fairest went to Poisons’ Bridgett Myott while players choices were Andie Heidke and Jaymi Burcombe.

And lastly, the Magpies and Panthers faced off. The Magpies were too strong on the night holding their lead for the match to win 46 – 14.

Best and fairest went to Lani Dickson from Magpies while players choices were Ella Cairns from Magpies and Coco Fregoni from Panthers.
