Shire to host local jobs program forum

BUSINESS
The Douglas Chamber of Commerce will be spearheading a Local Jobs Program Forum on Tuesday 9 February. The Chamber is working in conjunction with Douglas Shire Council; and Tourism Port Douglas Daintree is working with FNQ Employment.
There are two events to be held locally in Mossman and Port Douglas, and it has been advised to book early as space is limited. This is a free event.

The first will be at Mossman Shire Hall from 9.30am to 11.30am. The latter is at Port Douglas Community Hall from 1pm to 3pm.
Douglas Chamber members, business owners and local leaders are encouraged to attend and come together to solve critical labour shortages in the shire.
The Local Jobs Program is federally funded and is part of supporting Australia’s economic recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic. The program brings together expertise, resources and access to funding at the local level to focus on re-skilling, up-skilling and employment pathways for people in their region.
Looking for staff? Post your Positions Vacant with Newsport
The Local Jobs Forum at Port Douglas will also involve a Job Matching element and participants, who have Positions Vacant, should submit a Job Description or Position Titles for FNQ Employment to be able to prepare the job actives to ensure they provide their most suitable candidates for these roles.
Please forward any Job Description or Position Titles you may have to secretary@douglaschamber.com.au by Friday 29 January 2021 and please contact Douglas Chamber if you have any questions.
