Port Douglas Police are keen to make contact with the owners of a number of lost items that have been found and handed to police.

Some of the items include: car keys for various cars; house keys; wallets with limited identification and cash; numerous bank cards; cash under $1000 and rings.

Senior Constable Maggie Meadows, who is Property officer for the station, said it is her role to sort and dispose of property that comes into the Station.

“Persons wishing to claim an item, will need to provide a version of where and how they lost the items or the description of the items such as colour, make and or how much money to identify them as the owner,” she said.

Meadows said due to identification, she cannot disclose where the items were located.

“We are also promoting the reporting on line through the Queensland Police website for all lost items,” she said.

To claim an item/s visit or call the station on (07) 4087 1999 Monday to Friday from 9am to 3pm. If Senior Constable Meadows is unavailable, the station’s Administration Officer, Rebecca Warland, will be able to assist you.
