Douglas Chamber of Commerce is on the move and on Tuesday 2 February from 10am to 3pm the Department of Employment, Small Business & Training will be hosting a pop-up information stall at the Port Douglas Community Hall.

No appointment is necessary.

This event precedes a Local Jobs Program Forum on Tuesday 9 February. The Chamber is working in conjunction with Douglas Shire Council; and Tourism Port Douglas Daintree is working with FNQ Employment.

There are two events to be held locally in Mossman and Port Douglas, and it has been advised to book early as space is limited. This is a free event.

The first will be at Mossman Shire Hall from 9.30am to 11.30am. The latter is at Port Douglas Community Hall from 1pm to 3pm.

Cindy Perry, DESBT Principal Program Officer, will provide one-on one-advice to business owners on eligibility for the following programs at the 2 February event:

i) $10k QLD Small Business COVID-19 Adaption Grant -Round 2
ii) Employer Support payments $20k Back to Work program
iii) Apprenticeship/Traineeship funding incentives and support
iv) Mentoring for Growth
v) Subsidised training and incentives.

The Chamber said Cindy welcomed and encouraged businesses, who have had previous unsuccessful Adaption Grant applications, to attend. She will provide a valuable insight into how to apply for these funds.

If you can’t attend the pop-up, you can still access support by calling the DESBT Small Business Hotline on 1300 654 687.
