The search for an 80-year-old man who went missing in the Mt Malloy area has come to a tragic end.

Police said in a statement today that search crews located the remains of the missing man, Victor (Vic) Horne.

“There are no suspicious circumstances and police will prepare a report for the coroner,” said the statement.

Vic lived alone in a bush camp on the banks of the Mitchell River at Karma Waters Station.

His 1975 Land Rover was located about four kilometres from his camp on Monday December 13.
