A teenager has been charged following a burglary in Mossman on Monday night.

Police will allege between 8:30pm and 10:45pm, entry was forced to an Alchera Drive home, where a 16-year-old boy allegedly stole keys and an Isuzu station wagon.

A police spokesperson said the car was allegedly driven in a dangerous manner, before being crashed and abandoned.

“Around 12:00pm yesterday Mossman Police located the boy on Front Street, where he allegedly fled from officers but was arrested a short time later in the CBD area," the spokesperson said.

“The boy was later charged with one count each of burglary, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, driving without due care and attention, unlicensed driving and obstructing a police officer.”

He was denied bail and is scheduled to appear at Cairns Children’s Court.
