Coined by the International Coffee Organisation, International Coffee Day is all about toasting up everything we love about coffee and being vigilant to supporting ethically grown coffee, as one of the world’s largest crops it is important to know where your cuppa comes from.
Since the ninth century coffee beans have percolated throughout the world starting from tropical Africa to take away cups quite literally everywhere. Through its vast history from ancient civilisations to the present day the bean has been used as currency, medicine, candies and of course the popular drink we know and love today.
Life is too short for bad coffee and thankfully, the Tropical North has no short supply of excellent coffee, like these two places that are always a good choice for your caffeine indulgence.
Lure Restaurant Port Douglas

“The coffee we serve here is special because we care about every little detail. Our espresso martinis and iced coffees are made with fresh espresso shots,” she said.
