A cane train has derailed in the middle of Mossman following a collision with a truck.

Emergency services were called to the scene at 12.30pm after a truck carrying steel cargo collided with a cane train at the intersection of Foxton Avenue and Mossman Road, Mossman

The train was carrying a full load of sugar cane and appears to have been heading towards the Mossman Mill.

A police spokesperson said no one had been injured and police are currently controlling traffic.

“The north bound lane is blocked and fuel is leaking on the road.”

Crews are working to remove the train and truck from the scene.

Traffic is slowly being diverted around the accident.

Police urge motorists to avoid the area.
