'G’day Port Douglas & Daintree’ is a series of videos featuring Douglas Shire locals sharing their lives and what inspires them to live in this beautiful part of the world.

The videos feature stories from the likes of Port's top cop Damian Meadows on policing in paradise, Grant with his Surf Lifesaving Ski on Four Mile Beach, Nathan the Passionfruit Farmer, and more.

The project was started by producers Chris Beckwith and Can Kara, in conjunction with the Douglas Shire Council, FAB FM, and Newsport, with footage by Mac Zimmer.

Producer Chris Beckwith said the idea is to share local stories with each other as well as show off our beautiful home to the many Australians, who in the current climate, are looking to get away from crowded cities after having found they can now work from home and live anywhere.

“Many people in the southern states and cities, are now seeking a sea or tree change with wide open spaces,” he said.

“By making the move to Douglas, they could have more time to enjoy a balanced lifestyle in a beautiful environment, with new opportunities and experiences.

“Let’s encourage more people to make the move and experience a refreshing life change.

“And for those living here, these videos give us the chance to say “G’day" and engage with the people we see out and about,” he said.

Keep an eye on Newsport to see more stories in coming weeks and go to the YouTube channel 'G’day Port Douglas & Daintree’ to view the full series.
