Firefighters have responded to reports of a fire at the Mossman Mill this afternoon.

A Queensland Fire and Emergency Services spokesperson said three fire crews were called to the scene just after 3:00pm after a small fire broke out in the bagasse shed.

The spokesperson said the fire was located in a roof space and firefighters now had it completely contained.

A spokesperson for Far Northern Milling said no one was injured and staff responded quickly to keep everything under control.

“There were no injuries and we are now awaiting a report on what damage has been done,” the spokesperson said.
