Detectives are investigating the deaths of a man and child at Rossville, in Far North Queensland this morning.

Rossville is located approximately 20 minutes south of Cooktown and 50 minutes north of Wujal Wujal.

A police spokesperson said the bodies of a 46-year-old man and 4-year-old child were discovered when officers attended the Rossville residence shortly before 10:00am.

“A crime scene has been declared with specialist police and detectives attending,” the spokesperson said.

“There is no further information available at this stage.

“Investigations continue.”
