Peter and Peter in the Christmas Spirit at the Mayor's Christmas lunch.

Mayor Michael Kerr’s first Christmas luncheon was held yesterday at the Salsa Bar & Grill raising money for those in need this Christmas.

Thanks to a full house and a number of businesses donating to a raffle, almost $4000 was raised which will be added to the Mayor’s Christmas Appeal, bringing to total to just shy of $8000; on track to reach its $10,000 target.

All money raised from the Christmas appeal will go to hampers which will provide enough food and cheer for a decent Christmas breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as basic staples to ensure there is enough to go around over the Christmas period.

It’s not too late to donate, head to the Mayor’s Christmas Appeal.

Thanks to the generous businesses who supported the event; Salsa Bar & Grill, Mist, Wildlife Habitat, The Sheraton, Quicksilver, Exemplar Coaches and limousines, Sheryl Birchill Artist, Just Jase Hair, Clink Theatre, Daintree Discovery Centre, Mossman Golf Course, Temptations Café, and the Douglas Shire Council, FAB FM, and Newsport.
