Look up at the skies tonight for a Super Pink Moon

If you are looking for something to spice up life in isolation without leaving your home then look up into the sky tonight and see the Super Pink Moon put on a stunning display.
Australia is in the perfect position to witness the Super Pink Moon, officially known as the perigee-syzygy Moon, which occurs when the Earth, the moon, and the sun are all in a perfect line with the moon at its closest position to the Earth.
The moon's close proximity, only 356,907 kilometres away, will make it look larger than usual especially when it rises in the east which for the Douglas Shire will be around 6:30pm.
The super pink moon will be at its best viewing position at approximately 11:30pm.
The moon won't actually appear pink but rather is named because of the time of year the super moon occurs.
April is springtime in the northern hemisphere and according to folklore, the moon coincides with the bloom of a wildflower native to North America commonly known as Pink Moss.
