Police are appealing for public assistance to identify a woman who may be able to assist with investigations into a recent theft incident.

It will be alleged that at about 8.30pm on Friday, 13 March, a man entered a store in Cairns and while paying for goods, he left his phone and charger on the counter while he left briefly to grab another item for purchase.

A woman has allegedly approached the counter and taken the phone and charger before leaving the store.

Police would like to speak to the woman featured in the CCTV image below.

The woman also has a distinctive tattoo on her neck.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the police.
